Hassle free boilers

Options
Hi All

I have this evening seen a tv advert for 'Hassle free boilers' which offer a boiler for a 12 year contract for less than £9 per month.

The contract offers a full breakdown service and annual service included in the price quoted.

I am looking for some feedback on this company and how good/bad they are

Does anyone have any experience on this company?

Regards

Mike

    £9 per week x 52 x 12yr = £5616, doesn't sound like a good deal to me? And is it £9 p/w fixed for the term???

You can get a new boiler with 7 yr warranty installed for about £1500

If your on certain income or benefits and your boiler is quite old you might be able to claim one for free under ECO

as said this isnt a good deal better to buy one if you cant get above and assuming your not poor credit get a loan

    Hi

    Thanks for the prompt replies.

They state that there would be a 3% increase each year.

I do like the Vailliant range of boilers but I only looked at the site because I saw the tv ad tonight.

Who offers a 7 year warranty on their boilers?

I am still in the very early stages of looking around at boilers so I want to explore all options open.

Grants are not an option to me because I am financially sound and am in secure employment

    Thanks again
  • If you think you will be still in your same home in 12 years go for it.

Decent boiler is about £1100, fitting and materials £2k all in, lot of boilers have 5 year warranties now, you may spend £70 a year on a service, allow £800 for breakdowns (2-3 over remaining 7 years), so £3.5k over 12 years, they want how much?

Ideal offer 7 yrs on the logic, I'm not a fan.

Worcester, Vaillant or glow worm are the least worst options
  • Baxi duotec carries a 7 year warranty. The platinum range has 10 years for an extra £150 ish.
  • Have a look at Intergas. Very good boiler for around £1k. 5 year warranty (10 on the hex)
  • Hi

I opted for Hasslefree boilers after trying to get a boiler installed at an affordable rate using Helplink and British Gas Green deal. In both of the latter cases for working people without much money their deals are useless but do suit those on benefits. In the case of Hasslefree I knew straight away that financially you're paying for the boiler many times over - even with free servicing etc. However, if you haven't got the lump sum upfront to buy a new boiler then it's a very handy deal.

In terms of installation they told me that it would take 2 days to install as I wasn't having a like-for-like replacement. However, their installation engineers turned up on time, and properly equipped. The boiler was installed in one day. The engineers left my home tidy. They gave me a lesson how to use the boiler and controller and how to save money on energy costs.

Noticed an earlier post saying that boilers come with 7 year manufacturers warranty. Well the Valiant boiler that I have had installed comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty. But I have a guarantee with Hasslefree for 12 years.
