Volkswagen Fixed-Cost maintenance plan Query
Options
I am coming to the end of a two year Fixed-Cost maintenance plan with Volkswagen for my Passat 1.9TDI.
I originally agreed to 20K miles per year and currently the mileage is 53K, Excess mileage is 4p per mile. Value wise I wish I didnt do it, I dont think I have fully got the benefit of the money paid out
The service indicator is coming up saying service due in 1000 miles, and the period of the fixed cost argeement ends on July 8th, it is touch and go whether I will do 1000 miles in the next three weeks.
So do I bite the bullet, book the car in for the service and get hit for the excess mileage Approx £500 or do I delay as much as possible and pay for the service as I would normally? Does anyone know what the likely cost is for this service? I intend to have the service carried out by a VW dealer, just on a downer with VW over a previous warrenty issue.
Thanks

Wait and pay for the service yourself. You'll save a fair chunk of change. I reckon a service is around £250.
Is there any reason why it has to be a VW dealer? If you think you're getting a better service, then that's not always the case.
If you've done 53k in two years, you'll do 1000 miles in three weeks.0
