Can anyone help me choose a dehumidifier?
I've got it down to two now but I don't know which would be best.
De'Longhi DEM10. http://www.delonghidehumidifier.co.uk/dem10-compact-dehumidifier
It is £126 at the moment but has been as low as £84.
This is the leader for me purely because of the size. However...
http://www.mysmartbuy.com/p-303-Neostar-Compact-Advanced-Desiccant-Dehumidifier.html
I have a money off code to get this at £139.
Because it heats the air as well as remove the moisture then it would help heat the room. But the power usage does put me off, so I think it's the De'Longhi that I'm still leaning towards.
Thanks

I wouldn't rate the heating effect of a dehumidifier too highly. Ours is also a desiccant one and I've never noticed any temperature difference with it on.
One thing to keep in mind is that the refrigerant style machines aren't very good at working below 15C so are only of use in heated rooms in this country for half the year.0 -
Wat she says. i had one like the delonghi but come winter - when i needed it - the unit didn't work as it was too cold inside to start with.0

It always climbs degree after degree. Sometimes the room get uncomfortable after a while.
If we put ours on the landing and leave it on over night, we turn off the heating all together and the whole area is toastie warm in the morning.0 -
Ive just purachsed an Amcor AM-DD8 8L which is a dessicant one, i got it for £125 off ebay.
It seems that a dessicant one is the one to buy, also the ECOAIR DD122FW gets good reviews0 -
Sorry for bumping this a bit.
I purchased a Neostar Desiccant Dehumidifier from MySmartBuy (I had a discount code from BBC's Good Food mag), which seems to run at about 10p per hour.
If there's any interest, I can get better readings.0
