A random question about email comps (WARNING VERY TRIVIAL AND BORING) :D

Options
I know this is going to make me sound quite silly, but hey i'll ask anyway since this has been bugging me :p

When you enter some email comps they ask for specific details, for example

Send your name, age and email address to (company email address here)

Can anyone please explain why you need to send your email address in the body of the email when you've just sent the message from it?

Fingers crossed that makes sense :rotfl:

It does not make a lot of sense but that is how my comping email signature is set out so every entry gets the email address at the foot of the mail.

I think it's a very sensible question - I always wonder that as well!

  • I've always wondered too. The best I've come up with is that they copy and paste all your details to some sort of 'entry database' so they have all the details together in the event you win, which seems odd and redundant.

Aw hun, I was kidding. It all makes perfect sense. I'm just in that mood today :o

I think it's daft when an emailed comp asks for an email address. I always think that they didn't think that they'll get the address automatically. Or perhaps it's easy for them to C&P for marketing or whatever?

I wouldn't risk not obliging them though. Better to give them what they ask for, in my humbles.
