Help please. o2 email closing tommorrow. Need new email provider.

Yes I know I've left it late, but I need to find another email provider now that 02 is closing their service:mad:

I already have a gmail account, but want something more secure and preferably not based in the US or linked to my Broadband provider.

Who do you recommend and why please ?

Have so many things to update and swap before end of tomorrow :(

Thanks for your help:)

If you don't want one from a company that is based in the US then you are limiting yourself. If you don't want one from your ISP, you are limiting yourself.

If you're worried about that kind of thing, then your safest option is to buy yourself a domain and set up your own emails from there. It wil cost you about £20 a year, but then you could have seigemode@seigemode.co.uk and you would be managing your own emails through the servers of your hosting company. The company I use is 1and1.co.uk Their servers are in Germany, but you'll find plenty of hosts in the UK too.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

I to use 1and1 and have been for quite a few years now.

IIRC the monthly fee for email is about 89p.

I use fastmail (but they only have paid accounts not free ones now).
  • GMX.co.uk

Free email and part of 1&1 IIRC

^^ I use GMX too. It has loads of features (although they don't get in the way if you don't use them) and works well.

I got myself a domain name too, so if GMX were ever to disappear I wouldn't have to change email addresses.
