First Utility - should I go for a longer fix?

I don't usually post on the Utilities board, so forgive me if there's already a thread about this - I did look!
I'm on the First Utility iSave Fixed v4 March 2014 tariff, and on a quick check this seems to be the cheapest available - for now. I'm just wondering whether I would be better off asking First Utility to switch to a longer fix? AFAIK there would be no penalty - but I assume I would be on a higher rate initially.
(I would discuss this with First Utility but always seem to have trouble with the functionality of the contact form online - maybe just my computer - and they're very busy on the phones, for obvious reasons!)
Any useful info gratefully received.
