Extend Ring Time To Allow Use of Call Monitoring

Hi,
Is there any way to extend the ring time on my land line before the voicemail kicks in? It is currently about 20 seconds and I need to set my answering machine & call monitoring system to a shorter time so that it gets in first, so it is set to 15 seconds which is virtually useless. I know I can switch off the voicemail, but I think we will then lose caller ID which we need. We are currently with TalkTalk and I have raised the issue with them, but I believe this is controlled by BT.
Any help would be appreciated.
Ben

If you are with talk talk you will be able to switch off 1571 yourself. Your caller ID is a separate feature.
Go to your online account to switch it off. And back on again if you decide you want it in the future
(If you don't have an online account contact them to swutch it on/off)0 -
Talk Talk is a separate company to BT. Hence Talk Talk 1571 has nothing to do with BT.I know I can switch off the voicemail, but I think we will then lose caller ID which we need. We are currently with TalkTalk and I have raised the issue with them, but I believe this is controlled by BT.
When you've switched 1571 off, leave it off. Please.

Pretty please.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
