Hi wondering if someone can help me.
We're having problems with Scottish Hydro at the moment, it transpires our meter clock is three hours slow. We're on Economy 10 so it matters a lot.
This is my bill from October 2012 to January 2013.
We didn't use the heating very much at all, not every day and only for an hour or so on the days we did use it.
Can anyone tell me if this is average or high usage? Obviously there's a chance that I used peak when I thought I was using off peak and vice versa but ignoring that does it seem being on Economy 10 benefits us?
Thanks very much, I really don't know much about this.

8.69p + VAT for Night rate!
Before the recent price rise, for all of last year, I paid
Before VAT:
First 225kWh used each quarter 18.249pAll/Day remaining kWh 9.226p
Include VAT:First 225kWh used each quarter 19.161pAll/Day remaining kWh 9.687p
in London, for single rate Electricity.
You should compare the pittance that E10 might save you against the inconvenience of arranging your life around a clock, even if it is in your favour currently.

I agree, you night time rate is huge compared to mine on economy 7, ours is 5.7p inc vat with npower 2017 Fixed
id shop around now and find a better tariff if there is one where you live, and also I notice you paying only £50 a month, considering your bill is over £300+ that is way to low, you should be looking in the region of £80+ DD0 -
Thank you both for your replies.
I really mean our usage, is our usage high?
We can't really afford to put the DD up and I think the bill is wrong anyway.
Thanks0 -
If you average it out you are using 33kw a day. I am all elecrtic on eco 10 with wet elec heating. In the real cold in the cold winter I can easy use up to 50kw a day but at the moment I am using 20kw a day which is using heating for an hour in the evening. In the summer I use about 12kw a day. I have a 2 bed bungalow with dinning room.
I also pay the same rates. My DD is £85 at moment but expect it to go up a little this winter0 -
our august to 30th October 2013 usage is (moved to npower 2017 tariff today)tea_n_toast wrote: »Thank you both for your replies.

I,m also on economy 7 all electric
555 Day units used
1251 Night units used
it just depends on ur personal useage,
personally if I were u I would look to finding a better deal now (if you can/if you haven't already) before the hikes come into effect0 -
We're really low users. Don't use the heating and use as much in off-peak times as we can.
Will look into other deals. Not sure if we're better off not on E10 or not.
Thank you both.0 -
12,400 kWh of electricity without heating is hardly 'really low'!0

My point! There's no way were using this much.
Any other property we've had we've put tiny amounts on prepay meters or gotten large rebates every so often because were such low users.
Something isn't right but the meters being changed next week anyway so hopefully that will help

I'm assuming that the period is the three months November to January which is the main heating period - what is the total annual usage. I don't know how Nada manages to extrapolate that over a 12 month period as most people don't have their heating on for 5-6 months of the year during the summer. A more reasonable estimate would be about 9000kw a year. I'd guess that the bill would be around £1000 a year which means they should be paying about £85 a month, so if the DD stayed at £50 they'd be about £400 in arrears by now.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
