As a result of yesterday's goings on, I am now aware of Spark and Ovo. Any thoughts on switching to them? Apparently Spark have no intention of increasing. Ovo's CEO stated yesterday that the wholesale prices are falling.

well the ovo boss or someone in Ovo is clearly lying.
read these 2 extraxts from BBC where he claims prices have been falling...

now read the statement made by the ovo boss, and the reasons he gave just 6 months ago regarding the companies price increase...
http://www.ovoenergy.com/2013/04/price-change-announcement/
in that statement he claims raising wholesale prices....
to me this man is saying what he is to try and hoodwink new customers into joining his firm.
make your own mind up, but his statements clearly contradict one anotherPromo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
The OVO boss is obviously after as much publicity as possible. However, his basic points that the wholesale prices have not gone up so much as to justify the level of price increases and that the big six are exploiting customer inertia are valid.0

Why not consult a comparison site and choose the cheapest supplier & tariff for you?
You may want to consider a fixed deal, but with the chances of prices falling, Martin is now suggesting only to take a fix with no early exit fees. But with suggestions a cut in prices could amount to say £60, and a typical early exit fee only about £30 (where applicable) I wouldn't worry too much about that.
If Ovo have no intention of increasing their prices (do you have a source for that, btw?) then they are presumably now sitting firmly at the top of any comparison site. If not, ask yourself why they are not the cheapest with other suppliers raising their prices by almost 10%.
