May had 12000 saved was looking for a mortgage.
June/July owns own house mortgage free.
June/july moved into rental because the house was being renovated/adapted because of daughters eczema and her epilepsy????? all renovations being paid for by a community grant?????

House obviously still not finished what renovations/adaptions take that long...and what adaptions need doing for someone with a skin condition and epilepsy????

Intrigued how someone on IS,CTC and DLA can firstly get a mortgage and then the next month pay it all off so house is now mortgage free? Oh and afford to go abroad for 3 weeks holiday in december with 2 daughters.
  • Was this before or after you moved?

Well so far I have booked a hotel stay for her and I. A nice meal in a restaurant she has always wanted to go to. Hopefully the zoo keeper experience, I have bought her a watch, new bag and new ugg boots. And I'm paying for her room to be redecorated and re carpeted( although I don't class that as birthday really..but it's eating into the budget). I will buy a few guides bits as fillers and open her a new bank account too.

Perhaps I will leave it at that and see how she reacts.

    Thanks for all the suggestions

I am sure the O/P will be along shortly to explain in more detail.

Not sure how she is receiving HB when she owns a mortgage free property.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

Does this mean the youngest daughter doesn't get to on holiday and enjoy Christmas presents?
