Register with HMRC

Hi,

I have just registered a ltd company with Companies House which has been accepted.... The business is not yet active. Do I need to register with HMRC yet or do or can I wait til its active?

Companies house will tell them.

You will get some forms in the post soon from HMRC, due to the fact as above HMRC will be informed about the new formation/incorporation, these allow you to declare the company is inactive (dormant).

Complete them on the day they come and return by recorded delivery and ensure that you keep a photocopy of them.

also ensure you have signed up for webfilling at companies house if not done so already and online mark the company dormant.

You define the SIC (Standard Industrial Classification of Economic Activities) code as: "99999 - Dormant Company"

Had to edit, in fact the only way is to file an annual return, you can either file an early annual return or simply wait until the next return is due.
