Is my Dishwasher okay?

Hi Folks,
This is a bit of an odd one - I've recently bought a dishwasher (http://www.johnlewis.com/beko-dw80323w-dishwasher-white/p231508078) but I don't know if the dishwasher isn't much cop, or if I'm expecting too much from a dishwasher as I've never had one before, so thought I'd post here! If it's not doing a good job I want to send it back ASAP!
I've had a few issues with the cleaning on this.
1) On the 'Auto' mode last week I put in pots from Spag Bol and plates mugs etc. The pot I did the mince in had some mince still stuck on the side, and there was some tomato sauce in a mug above the pot.
2) Wooden spoons, no matter what the setting never seem to be cleaned
3) I did spag bol again, but this time put it on intensive wash mode, after the wash there was still some mince left on the side of the pot - everything else, bar a wooden spoon (see above) was clean.
4) There was a frying pan in the other day which had some stuff on the bottom of it, I'm not sure if the dishwasher put it on or it was already there, but after a few washes it never came off, I had to hand wash it.
My question really is, is this normal behaviour from dishwashers (like how that the plastic stuff is always wet after a wash), or in fact is this not normal and I should send it back and get another model? When you spend £319 on something you want to make sure it's right! But as it has high ratings, and so does it's cheaper sister http://ao.com/product/DSFN6830W-Beko-Standard-Dishwasher-White-23826.aspx it makes me wonder if it's normal behaviour, otherwise wouldn't other people be complaining? I'm using the expensive Finish Dishwasher Quantum tabs (I figure start expensive to rule out tabs and work your way down - although I got them on offer), and I think I am loading the dishwasher correctly, I'm very careful with loading it.
Thanks folks

A Lot depends on how you arrange the pots in the machine, so the water can get at them, I put wooden spoons and fish slices etc in sideways, one large pan, or frying pan can obscure all the other potsBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Hi,
Yeah I think I'm loading it right, with the pot with the mince it was face down right on the bottom, nothing was obscuring it.Despite my name, I'm not a student any more0 -
You really need to be scraping any left over food off dishes and pans.
Make sure nothing is stopping the washing blade from turning.0 -
Why on earth did you buy a Beko? and so expensive when you could have bought a Bosch.
I looked online for reviews of your dishwasher but there isnt any .
Have you done the Water hardness & regeneration settings its in the manual.
http://johnlewis.scene7.com/is/content/JohnLewis/DW80323Wpdf?
Have you used salt and rinse aid even if your using all in one dish washing tablet.0 -
I've used different dishwashers over the last few years and it sounds about right. Just get rid of any leftover food and see if you can use something other than wooden spoons...
With my current dishwasher (Hotpoint), I must say, the intensive cycle isn't nearly as good as the normal one!!!0 -
Yes, is the blade catching and is there salt in it?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

I'd send it back and get a different model. Honestly Beko don't have a very good name and £300+ seems a lot for a 'not too good' dishwasher to me.
Mine's a Bosch and it's excellent, though plastic always comes out wet! Check out the one in the link, A rated for washing and drying:-

Hi All,
Thanks for your feedback. I had a look at the bosch's, and in fact was tempted but when I went to physically play with one in a John Lewis it felt very flimsy, we took out the top rack to play with the height adjustable options and we had difficulty putting it back in.
Also I trusted Beko as my washing machine and tumble dryer are Bekos and have been very good. Not only that but which thinks highly of Beko as a brand giving it 4/5 stars for reliability, the same as Bosch I believe and much higher than Hotpoint. There might not be many reviews for that model as it's exclusive to John Lewis, but it's very similar to the cheaper one I linked to, the main difference is the additional cutlery shelf at the top. I also bought from JL for the 2 year warranty.
I do scrape the majority of food in the bin before I put it in the dishwasher, the food it was struggling with with the saucepan was some burnt on mince on the side, and the blackness around it. Wooden spoons it struggles with but I'm beginning to think that maybe wooden spoons and dishwashers don't really mix, so would be happy replacing with plastic. But I just want to see what the overall opinion is, as I obviously want to get bang for my buck.
If this is standard behaviour for a dishwasher (95% things I put in it seem to be clean) then I'll just learn to perhaps slightly prewash burnt stuff, if it's not, I'll send it back.

twp things you shouldn't put into a dishwasher
Wooden utensils
Crystal
And rinse/scarpe any food away before you put it in there, it will get stuck over time in the outlet and you will be inundated with ants etc.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Put the pots with burnt on food on the bottom shelf its supposed to be hotter on bottom shelf.0
