Admiral Multicar Fraud / Scam - Warning

Just letting people know the some criminals are now using genuine addresses to get false Multicar motor insurance policies.

We've had no less than 12 policies for various people sent to our address in the last couple of weeks who do not live here and have never lived here. I contacted Admiral a couple of days ago and they couldn't care less.

We have now reported it to Action Fraud who have said they will be investigating.

Is it fraudulent to get an insurance quote on a property you do not own?

Definately states Policies and not qutes so reporting for fraud seems sensible.

It would be good if the OP confirmed whether it was quotes or policies.

Ghost broking would make sense if the ghost had access to the address to collect the paperwork. I would expect a ghost to need the certificate at least.

Admiral not caring does suggest it was only quotes.

    Hi all

In response to some queries they were actual policies that had all been taken out with Admiral on their Multicar motor insurance product.

It has now been reported to Action Fraud, who have taken details of the policyholders names and car registrations, none of which appear on MID.

Many policies taken out online allow insurance certificates to be printed out so no access to postal address required.

Private car policies usually appear on MID quite quickly. Wonder if Admiral have done something already.

There was a story in the press today about a ghost broker getting a three year sentence.
