Thank you all, and special thanks to ecofarmer. I often feel like this debt diary is just me talking to myself and simply getting my thoughts in order. I'm not sure what hubby thinks, TBH we don't talk specifics, part of us rebuilding the trust is me getting on with it and being honest if he asks. With the run up to Christmas he hasn't asked for a few weeks. I'm sure that when it's all gone we'll both be relieved and proud. He has an IVA (ends in a few months) so he knows how I feel and he's sensitive to the fact that I wasn't simply throwing money around in incurring the debts and it's a difficult thing to talk about.
Overall things between us are much better. Before my LBM we were virtually two strangers living together. Now we're talking about everything, the kids have noticed it significantly as they are unable to "tag team" against us
but with us both being closer and more honest the whole house is a much nicer place to be.
The first round of direct debits have gone out and all is as expected. That's an extra £182 off the debts
I'm secretly hoping to get back to the same level of repayments as the first month where I was still learning but I'm aware that is unrealistic. Any overpayment at all is a bonus and my CC debt is now well below 7k and on Monday the loan will drop below 2k
I can see the progress, much like most things I'd like to see it all gone today but for now I need to be the tortoise - slow and steady will win this race
Today I have my lovely friend coming round for too much drink and lots of catching up.She lives 250 miles away and I haven't seen her since September. I'm so excited and we've had this planned ever since we knew she'd be nearby for Christmas. This also means I won't be off out spending - I really need to clean up the lounge as I've let the kids have the run of it since Christmas Eve. I already have the drink in and there's still half a turkey for the munchies. Might just snag that 12th NSD after all

Eeek I forgot to add my proud moment! I have an emergency fund! Not a lot but enough to make a difference if an insurance excess needs to be met or an act of God makes the house uninhabitable for a few nights. We rent so most household disasters wouldn't be down to us but just in case...
I feel really grown up having it there and I never would have thought about it without this forum
Hopefully this time next year it will have bred and can be renamed as overdraft replacement fund

O...M...G... no hangover! I realised this morning that we got through two bottles of wine, almost a full 70cl bottle of vodka and half a litre of gin! I didn't get to bed until 4.30am and was up just after 9.30! Absolutely fantastic evening, as always I laughed until I cried, almost fell over (oops!) and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
My friend has been a huge support through the start of my DFW journey and it was so lovely to be told just how well I'm doing.
I've not felt at all under the weather today and I've had a lovely day snuggling up with DD2 watching movies. We've had a very un-MSE dinner of takeaway pizza but I did find a 33% voucher code so spent less than £19 on 6 of us and we are heading back into the normal routine on Monday so it was nice to have a treat as a family.
I've got a day of overtime planned for tomorrow punctuated with a small grocery shop, I'm actually craving fresh fruit and veg! I've not eaten that unhealthily but I've missed my regular menu and I'm looking forward to a huge vat of leek and potato soup and some homemade pasta salad again
I'm fully aware of how odd that sounds but I think im finally done with turkey, chocolate, wine and cheese!
I'm off to bed now as I'm finally starting to feel a little tired. I'm still on a bit of a high from having such a fabulous Christmas and last night was the icing on the cake. I only wish and hope I can stay this happy forever

Looks like we posted simultaneously! I actually mentioned your phenomenal debt clearance last night and how much it helps to have people who fully understand to "talk" to along the journey. Hope your ears weren't burning too much

Have to say even I am sick of chocolate
Apart from the "after eights incidents" (yes, I've now eaten TWO boxes!) I've had hardly any chocolate. I received three boxes of lindt balls and have eaten 3 or 4 chocolates but the house is fit to burst with chocolate! I didn't buy any but four kids receiving 6 or 7 large selection boxes each mean it's everywhere I look!
It's being rationed from a treat box and means I won't be buying any for a couple of months...and then the easter eggs will start arriving
