Netbook - RAM upgrade advice

Hi,
I would like to buy new RAM for my netbook to speed it up. I know it can support up to 2GB. It currently has the stock 1GB module.
With CPU-Z I saw the RAM installed is Samsung, PC2-6400, 400Mhz, DDR2. In another tab called "Memory", I see DDR3 though.
I know where to look to buy RAM but I am unsure about the frequency etc., so that's why I would like some help.
I found some SODIMM PC2-6400 but 800Mhz, which is not what CPU-Z tells me about my module.
I was gonna buy a new laptop on finance, but I decided I'll save up for it instead and in the meantime upgrade the netbook I already have (there's not much upgradeable, though). Many thanks in advance .:)
