Displaying Chinese characters.

I've received an email with some text in Mandarin. I need to show it to a taxi driver. Because I don't have Chinese text support on my computer the text comes out as a series of boxes each with four numbers and letters in it. Are there any websites that will let me convert this into the correct characters to show to my taxi driver?

Thanks.

Ask whoever sent the email to you to send you an image of the text? They could even take a screenshot and send you that. Or hand-write it and photograph it?

As expected it tells me to insert the Windows XP cd, which I don't have.

If you have an I386 folder on your c: drive try pointing it at that when it asks for the XP CD.
What are you using to view the email? Does it have an option to change the character encoding? It's usually an option on the View menu.
Can you use a program that lets you change to the MS Mincho font?

Afraid I don't have an I386 folder on my C drive.

I'm using Thunderbird. It has a View/Character Encoding/Chinese Simplified Option but selecting that doesn't display the characters any differently. The characters have been forwarded to me rather than sent direct. so it's possible they have lost something in transmission.

I've looked for MS Mincho in Thunderbird and in MS Word but it doesn't seem to be in either.

So still no success I'm afraid.

Take a screen grab (using Print Screen key) of the email, and print it out as an image.

I can't believe that's going to work. Surely it will just look exactly the same as in the email?

No I haven't. I have now asked him but I preferred not to because I don't know him that well and I didn't want to take up any more of his time than I already had.
