  • Whatever. The largest single function however remains to enable people to vote for a political party in this country. (I.E. England) I won't repeat why I have no interest in participating. That won't change.

I am so devastated that someone who uses the phrase "I'm not racist, but..." is not warming to me.
  • I am not racist because I live in England, work with English people, all my friends are English, my kids were born in and live in England and identify themselves as English, albeit with some affection for their non-English heritage? Get a life ...

I doubt many people give a !!!! about this.

You asked why you are being credit checked for your energy supply, you got the answer. You clearly don't like that answer.

And I think people have been remarkably polite!

    Whatever....

If you want to join F U then they've told you what you need to do as it's up to them to decide whether they want you as a customer.

If you choose not to comply then you'll have to go somewhere else.

I think that the info given by others was fair and reasonable and it's you who is making an issue out of something that is really rather trivial.

It's entirely up to you if you choose not to go on to the register, but you'll have to understand the consequences and it may preclude you from getting any other credit in the future.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

At least some people are capable of remaining civil. So thanks for that. I don't know if it is trivial to be accused of being a 'racist' simply because I don't want to sign up for or participate in the politics of a country I was not born in and who's politics I have no interest or affinity for. Perhaps if I ever return to my place of birth I might change my view then. There are other reasons, like maybe I don't think it's such a great idea that all of these private companies and government agencies can spy on you. If people here think that can't or doesn't happen, maybe you should read the news more. But that really is a completely different and irrelevant matter.

Anyway I'm bored with this. I appreciate the help from those few posters that were able to remain civil, but I remember from a previous time a couple of years ago that these forums have effectively been taken over and are being run by energy firm and banking firm lackeys. It is almost a waste of time posting here. Particularly as there is much that has been said here that I couldn't have found out on my own.

In any case I have unsubscribed from this thread, as I have better and more pressing things to do. So the rest of you guys can either comment all you want, or jog on. Whatever suits you best.
