New to forum - couple of quick questions!

Options
Hi all,

I have just joined the forum, have been entering comps on and off for a couple of years and won a few small bits!

Couple of things I wanted to ask the experts though:

1 - If you are informed by phone of a win and you miss the call will you always be left a message or do you HAVE to answer when they call?

2 - Are winning e-mail notifications pretty obvious or do you have to open every e-mail you receive from comps you have entered and trawl through to try and find out?

Sorry if these are obvious answers, I have tried to find on the forum but couldn't find anything!!

Not sure im an expert but will try and help

    1) It depends on the comp some may require you to answer there and then others will leave a message or allow you to call them back

    2) Most are pretty obvious e.g congratulation you have won X Y Z but I have heard of some that have won prizes and have recieved a very generic email which doesnt make it clear until you open it

Hmmm they werent the most helpful answers, sorry for being vague :D

    1. I've only ever had one WTC (Winning telephone call) so am not really in a position to answer that - but from what I know on here, if it was ITV ringing you, they don't leave a message but do keep trying to get hold of you - although not indefinitely! Obviously if it's something like an on air radio comp, then yes you'd have to answer your phone or they move on.

    2. Most of the WEMs I've had (winning emails) have been obvious, as they have come from a "person" rather than a "company" - e.g. from John Smith, or john.smith @ whatevercompany and usually have had an obvious title too such as "Congratulations, you have won a prize with......"
The spam ones usually have headers such as "you may have won a prize" or "open this email to find out if you've won" or something along those lines.

I definitely don't open every email I get - I receive upwards of 100 a day so can't read them all - but a quick scan of the subjects is usually enough. If you're worried about missing any, you could always type "congratulations" or "won" or "winner" into your email search box??
  • Thanks guys, I will try and keep phone close and maybe spend a little less time reading every e-mail so thoroughly!!
