URGENT HELP - Toothfairy Finance!!!
pathetic2010
Hi I am in need of some serious help please! In October 2012 my I borrowed £400 from them as my parents house was at risk so I got some money from TF to help them and my intention was to pay them back when I got paid at the end of the month but with xmas round the corner I decided to keep the money. Then at work, instead of being made redundant my hours were dropped and I could not earn enough to pay them back so they then added huge charges on a daily basis and now they are saying I have £1080 to pay back!! I have been in a payment plan with them since the last 11 months and to date I have paid £440 back. They have threatened me with bailiffs, court action, repossessions and all sorts but I have said to them that there is no way I am paying £1080! As far as I'm concerned I've paid back the capital plus one months interest but is there anything that I can do so that I do not end up paying £1080 more. I am happy to pay say another £40 more in interest but there is no way I can afford to pay what they are asking for. Can I challenge this?

Complain to the FOS perhaps?
Toothfairy are the same bunch as this lot which has had multiple complaints upheld by the FOS.

If you were in financial trouble they should have dealt with you fairly, adding hugh amounts of interest and charges is not dealing with you fairly, your best bet is to ring the FOS on there free helpline number, explain the problems you are having, and they will fill in a complaint form for you there and then, they will then write to TF on your behalf telling them they have a complaint to deal with, if they don't contact you, or your not happy with there response after 8 weeks, you can ask the FOS to get involved formally, they will then kick there !!!!!! (hopefully, but you get my drift) good luck with it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Don't pay them another penny and ignore all correspondence.
They haven't yet taken anyone to court as far as I know.
