What I am wondering is just how you can find out from the units you clock up on the meter to how these convert to Kwh's. Does anyone know how to do this?

On an imperial gas meter (ft) multiply by 33
On a metric gas meter (m) multiply by 11.2

With elelctricity meters, one meter unit is one kWh, no conversion necessary (but make sure you look out for the decimal point.)
