You can claim the PPI at any time - but any money must still go to your creditors within the IVA.

You can complain of mis-selling PPI at any time, but any redress (should it be awarded) will likely be offset against monies written off as part of your IVA.

Completion of your IVA is meant to draw a line under your past money mis-management, but it does not mean you should then try to get a refund of money you failed to pay in the first place.

    Hi,

Well done on nearly getting through your IVA.

Assuming your IVA firm does not launch an 11th-hour PPI reclaim investigation (which seems to be commonplace at the moment), AND once you receive your certificate of completion, you are free of your IVA obligations, and can then claim and keep, any PPI refund.

If however, you attempt to reclaim PPI in the period between your last payment, but before your receive your completion paperwork, you are still bound by the IVA terms relating to windfalls/ after acquired assets. In this situation, you may be required to pay any recovered funds into the IVA.

A 3rd (less common) scenario is that, after your IVA firm intiates a PPI investigation, they will issue your completion paperwork (so that you can move on with your life etc), but with the proviso that they are still entitled to PPI refunds as a result of said investigation.

...so hang on until you get that completion certificate.

    Good luck.
