You have been told repeatedly they aren't concealing them.

Their equipment needs upgrading in every exchange which they are now doing.

What more do you want. They cannot magic it for you.

I have suggested an alternative for you if you cannot wait, otherwise just be patient. Or get a call blocking device that will block international calls.

It is indeed good news that BT are finally fixing this deficiency, but they should have rectified it much earlier in the last 19 years.

The 'equipment issue' is not the information BT have given me when I have complained about this in the past.

On both occasions, they have stated as fact that they do not pass international CLI information because they are not aware whether the caller wished to withhold that information or not!

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

They gave the "equipment issue" information to parliament.

So they either lie to you or lie to parliament.

    See 19:

It does not matter how many ties you say they are not concealing them, it does not make it any more true. Basically you have been taken in by the spin.

I remember over 10 years ago we started getting CLI from abroad and then it was turned off. Others here have reported International CLI active on BT's network.

The fact is that if the local exchanges can give CLI for domestic calls, they have all the facility they need to give it for foreign calls. What is required is that BT process the incoming CLI at the point the calls are landed on their network.

And of course that they switch off the International CLI suppression on the local exchanges. I would hardly call switching the CLI suppression off an upgrade.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Yes, I remember seeing this too. That's why I'm sure that BT are deliberately concealing data.

I've said before that this seems to be exchange specific because I've been receiving international CLIs on my BT line for several years now. The photo shows a call received from Finland back in April.

The exchange hasn't been upgraded to 21CN according to Sam Knows.

Yes, they are deliberately doing it. There's a person whose full time job is to monitor all calls going to NFH and to hide the numbers of certain callers. It's a conspiracy, I tells ya,...
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?
  • Now it looks like we will be paying for caller display so I will expect all numbers to be displayed, or I will be making a complaint.
