First time buyers setting sights too high?

I just don't understand why first time buyers book a viewing for a house, then stand there and say they can only afford to buy a property at £10,000. Well I do, I know everyone likes a bargain, and a bit of negotiation, but I think this is taking it a bit too far. Its not as if the house needs any work doing to it, its not…

Actually it is or rather will be again, utterly gorgeous, an ex pub, quirky and full of character. Built in 1758 it's not going anywhere. It has stood all this while, we will reward it's patience.

Unfortunately it had various tenants in it for 8 years and it hasn't been "cherished" - it is a little bruised and battered but we will nurse it back to full health.
