• Entriesmust inform why they think they should win the ultimate prize using twentywords only - (no less and no more).


• Byentering participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by therules. All entry instructions form part of these Terms and Conditions.


• Closingdate for entries will be 14 days after the date of reaching 100,000 Likes; thiswill be published on the Facebook business page upon reaching 100,000 followers.


• Therewill be ten shortlisted applicants, which will be chosen by The Cranleigh teamand published on the Facebook business Page on the 15th Day of the competition,the winning entry will then be chosen by the Facebook followers. 14 Days willbe provided for voting and the winner in turn announced on day 29 of thecompetition.


• Theprize is exclusive use of the hotel inclusive of all 18 rooms (this offerexcludes the Hideout Boutique House) the stay is on a 2 night basis over theweekend (Fri and Sat) for a maximum of 36 people for bed and breakfast, therewill be a champagne reception for guests within the hotel and guests will havefull use of the spa and leisure facilities (Please note the leisure facilitiesare not on site and permit 8 guests only at any one time).


• Allprize winners will be contacted via email, winners must respond to notificationof their prize within 72 hours otherwise the right to claim the prize will belost and the promoter reserves the right to re-award the prize(s).


• Thedate of the competition stay at the hotel must take place at a date to thediscretion of the hotel (2014).


• Namesand contact details of all guests must be supplied to the hotel 6 weeks priorto arrival, please note the email addresses provided may receive futureinformation in relation to news and special offers.


• TheCranleigh does not accommodate hen and stag nights and as aresult we cannot permit large single gender groups. If the winnerfeels that their group may be seen as unbalanced, it is imperative that theycontact the hotel to discuss prior to arriving. If at the time ofsupplying guest details the hotel has concernsin relation to this then the hotel has the right to request thegender group be more balanced. No children are aloud or pets.

• Youmust be 18 years of age to enter this competition.


• All guests must attendthe welcome event and be willing to partake within reasonable publicity asspecified by the Promoter.


• There are no cashalternatives / substitutes.


• The winning decision ofthe judges is final. No correspondence will be entered into.


• The Promoter reservesthe right to amend, alter or terminate this promotion at any time due tocircumstances beyond its control.


• The Promoter’s decisionis final and binding in all matters relating to the promotion.


• The Promoter can acceptno responsibility for, and reserves the right to refuse, entries that arecorrupt, incomplete or fail to arrive by the closing date.


• Should there be anyadditional cleaning time or damage to the hotel the guests will be accountablefor charges for either A) additional cleaning or the full cost of repair. Looks like they've shortlisted but those 10 haven't submitted 20 words exactly so seems a bit unfair? Company is saying that not many people stuck to those rules so they dropped them but I was counting on the fact that people wouldn't use exactly 20 words which would therefore cut the number of qualifying entries :-) Can they do this?

I agree with you that it is unfair. I didn't enter purely because I couldn't manage something in 20 words which I thought might be worthy of a shortlist (& I don't have many FB friends to boost votes in that unlikely event).


Only c500 had kept to the rules and they considered all 23k entries. I say tough on those not following the rules.

don't know if the T&Cs referring to the judges' decision being final means that they can make such radical changes.


I've unliked them & this is what I think drove them to change the rules - risk 500 unliking or 22k or may be I'm just cynical.


At least if you did 20 words you should be in the extra draw that they have announced today for a £1k stay - good luck.

Yes I saw that today which is good of them and probably better for me as I hadn't realised the original comp was a voting system aka who knows the most people :-) At least I may hopefully just go in the draw
