2. Fair prices: We pay the highest prices in Europe (cheaper only than Estonia I think).
It shows our market is working well and profits are reasonable, it's just that gas, like petrol, is expensive stuff and it's not going to get cheaper any time soon. Let's face it, we're running out of it. We might was well stop moaning about it.
It's just the latest target for the media. Previously it was petrol prices, then hacking, then fracking. Don't let them manipulate you.
The politicians should be trying to minimise the effect on the lower paid and elderly rather than get caught up in this campaign.0 -
2. Fair prices: We pay the highest prices in Europe (cheaper only than Estonia I think). If the rest of Europe can get their energy cheaper, then maybe the energy bosses ought to find out how they too can provide their customers a better service. They get paid enough for it...
You presumably have misread that article where only Estonia have more people in Fuel Poverty.
If you read the link given above you will see that we have some of the cheapest prices in Europe - particularly gas.0 -

Also jmima Estonia is cheaper for electrc but not gas.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
Boycotting all of them seems like a better idea than just one. Encourage as many people as possible to switch to smaller suppliers maybe?0

I did this once and switched to first utility, took them 8 months to take over my electric and 2 years (never) to bill me for gas used of their 'smart meters'. I paid estimated bills for gas and ended up overpaying 145 when I left. I wasted so many hours of my life trying to sort it out it was not financially viable to keep persuing it so I wrote it off. Swapping to the cheapest on paper does not mean you are neccessarily doing the right thing.0 -
Looks like OVO has got itself some free publicity from all this.

Much as I hate using the daily mailf for this news reference, however wouldn't it be interest and a bit of a bloody nose to the Big 6 if there was a noticeable shift in customers move [from them] to a smaller company like OVO for example?
Its worth considering. I'm currently having no end of issues with SSE who can't even decide between their management and their engineers what kind of meter I have, and hence am paying over the odds for a 1 bed electricity-only flat.0 -
