Problem with brakes?

Hi,
I've got a 03 Fiesta and I parked it up for 2 weeks since I've been away.
When I got in the car today and drove off I noticed a sound coming from the drivers side front wheel. It is super hard to explain the noise but it definitely is not a grinding noise, I would say it sounds like a rubbing noise (maybe). It only happens for a split second with every rotation of the wheel and happens all the time, when braking and not braking.
Also after I went for the drive I noticed that on the disc there was still a section of rust that was in the same spot around the whole disc.
Could something be possibly stuck between a part of the pad and the disc?
I'll have a closer look tomorrow, just wondering what you people might think the problem is.

Sounds like surface rust on the disc.0

As the disc wears you usually end up with a ring of metal on the outer edge this rusts and rubs on the pads.
A standard brake clean or service should knock them off, They only need a light tap with a hammer and it crumbles away.
If its bad then it maybe time for some new discs and pads. When were they checked last?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Probably a good clean and some copper grease on pads . Hopefully will put an end to it. .0

Your description of the noise and the fact rust remains points towards a warped disc as the rust should wear off with normal braking. Might be worth getting them checked at a garage you trust.0

So just do some fairly heavy braking and that should sort it, which is the MSE thing to do first, before stripping them down, clean and replacing them etc which all costs money.0 -
Sounds pretty normal for a car to be parked up for a couple of weeks and the mild steel brake discs to corrode. After a few normal applications it will be gone.0
