Travelodge Room Occupancy Question

I booked a twin room for 2 guests but am now intending to travel alone. Wondering if this matters of if I am obliged to try and amend the details - it says there is a fee and to change room type there has to be that type of room available at the hotel. I did a search for a single room but none were available although it was giving me the option to book a double room or family room, hence me wondering if I need to amend anything or just turn up.

Just turn up. They're not particularly interested in how many people use the room, as long as it's not a bunch of rowdy teenagers crashing in there.

I usually book a family room just for my own occupancy as I like having a sofa to sit on. The room size is no different but it feels different somehow.

There are no single rooms at Travelodge.

Having booked for two it just means you'll get extra clean towels and maybe an extra pillow :)

  • Yes, just turn up and when you check in simply say the other person couldn't make it.

I have booked family rooms before as I like a sofa too! Handy when I went to Cornwall and a friend suddenly wanted to take a break also, as we just shared the room without having to share the bed! She got the sofabed....

If you have booked to stay more than one night, do tell them on arrival, they appreciate that, as it means they don't have to change sheets unnecessarily during your stay.

I just used the don't bother to make up my room sign.......though that didn't stop them leaving me a letter saying that they didn't make up my room because I'd left a 'don't bother to make up my room' sign on the door - and yes I did wonder why I bothered!
