Wide curtains - help!

I need to buy some new curtains for the patio window in my living room, but the widest I can find in ready made is 90 inches. I really don't want to go the expense of made to measure, as all of the sites I have looked at are just so expensive (hundreds of pounds)
The length of the pole is 3 metres (117 inches) and so presumably a pair of 90 inch wide curtains would look very stretched out and hardly have any gathers.:(
Please, does anybody know of a company that sells ready made curtains that are wider than 90 inches?
Many thanks.

If the pole is 117 inches each curtain would need to cover 58.5 inches, so I wouldn't think 90 inch would be stretched out.0

This is what I think, but OH seems to be of the opinion it would be OK:eek:
Why don't some shops at least stock a few extra wide ones? Must say I was quite shocked at the price of made to measure.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
The problem with having wider curtains is they won't pull back as far when open.0

some shops still do 120" ish wide, do you have a Paul Simon shop anywhere near you they usually have them, usually at least double gather, the fuller the better0

Hi try ebay.0

IIRC the quoted size of curtains is for one, so a pair would double the width.
Dunelm Mill ready made curtains are sold in pairs. The size given refers to each individual curtain, so if you buy a pair of curtains measuring 117cm x 137cm (46" x 54") you will receive two curtains each with the same measurement of width 117cm x length 137cm (width 46" x length 54").
N.B. Curtains go for no money at all on Ebay, I got a pair of 80" drop curtains for my patio doors for £4.500 -
It is tricky. As mentioned the pole is 3 metres (117 inches) and each standard ready made curtain is 90 inches, so a total width of 180 inches in the two curtains, only leaving 63 inches for all the gathers.
I just wonder if that would be enough, I really don't want it to look naff, but I also don't want to spend over £500 on one pair of made to measure curtains:eek:Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
We've got Dunelm 228x228cm curtains on our 280cm pole and they look fine with some gathering. Of course your extra 20cm could make all the difference and be a stretch too far, but Dunelm will let you return them if they're no good. Ours were a bargain at £29.99 in the sale from £79.99 and I actually prefer them to the 10 year old £250 made to measure ones that were up before!
We've also got another window that's an odd size, so we've got two pairs over it and they look fine, you can't even tell it's two pairs until you draw them, so works equally well.0 -
90 wides would have plenty of gather. Remember how often you would have your curtains drawn. Couple of hours at night probably.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
