Who is responsible for meter?

Finally got to the bottom of it and meter is three hours slow so I'm obviously thinking I'm on cheap rate when I'm not.
Who's fault is this and what should happen with previous bills?
Thanks

We get this a lot with the 7 hours cheap rate. The suppliers dont seem to admit what the exact times are as it can be out of their control. The meters with digital timers, Ampy and the like, I have found to be drifting somewhat. Most are accurate but the odd one can be 1 or 2 hours out. The analogue timer switches can have the cheap 7 hours anywhere in the 24 hours. For this reason I dont think that any supplier will quote you exact hours of the low/norm times. You can observe the switchover times yourself0

Hi there,
Thanks very much for your reply.
They have told me the times on more than one occasion for the off-peak times and I really try to stay within them.
I'm sure they will find some way to pass the buck to me though.0 -
A friend of mine had a 15 hour power cut and now his economy 7 meter times are 15 hours out and have been for the past 5 years.
He is quite happy as all his cheap electricity is from 9 am till 4 pm.
Should he call his supplier?0 -
A friend? Lol.
I'm not sure on that one. How would they know he knew?
But I probably would if I was him!0 -
I dont think it is set in stone that the cheap rate has got to be in the dead of night. Half at least of the analogue timers I see are miles out of the 12.30 am to 7 .30 am..times I have seen published in a training manual. I suppose we could easily re set them as we go round. The meters readers also have no idea whats night and day is on the digital meters and put it in rate 1 night, rate 2 day regardless of if thats the case0

Is MSE being monitored by the electricity companies and how did they know who I was referring to?

Today he got a letter saying that his electricity meter is going to be changed.
He is not happy at me as he blames me for posting here.0 -
Thank you so much for hijacking my post.
Don't be ridiculous how could they know?! Did you give his name and address? Even say who he was with? No.0 -

One of life's coincidences. They happen! How could the electricity company possibly know, of all the millions of customers they service, which one you were referring to?!
Meter's are changed as a matter of course as they reach the end of their certified life.0 -

If it is my fault that's fine - I've always used the electricity at the times they've told me.
But I can't change the clock on the meter so I don't see how it being wrong can be something I've done 0
