man from meter plus turned up at door this a.m. by which i was quite surprised , as my meters had been read by g4s (i think it was them anyway) or some meter reader.
new electric meter was installed about 3 months ago, so i was quite surprised when this fella said i have come to do a safety check on your meter. i explained about the new meter and that it had been read couple of weeks ago, but he insisted it had to be done. anyway, he said if i was busy now he would come next week and do it.
he definitely was from meter plus as he had all i.d.
anyway, what really got me thinking was that the letter he left me saying he was coming next week, stated that it was on behalf of npower.
we are not with npower, but with sc. gas, and electrice so cannot understand why npower would want to check the meter.
he made an appointment to come again next week, but i think i will refuse entry.
any advise please
thanks

It will just be out of data information.
They will have a long list of site's needing the safy check/must be reads and it will have got out of sync with their appointment (assume they do this as a data collector) info. Or possibly the DC failed to process the de-appointment.
If your current supplier do use g4s as you say then feel free to send him away as it is not needed. Do explain your reasoning to him if he is reasonable though. (If he is not and only cares about getting his quota then feel free to be awkward!)
He could also have the wrong address or some other problem. In that case they may continue to try. If that happens them make a complaint.0 -
i actually told him we were not supplied by npower, but sc., so he checked on his device thingy, which showed we were with sc. power, but he still insisted we had to have the check.Nice to save.0

Meter plus fit meters, they are part of Npower. Someone does a follow up visit occasionally, checking the fitters work. He wont be a meter reader.G4S read for BG, Scot Power, EDF, and a few micro suppliers0

They also maybe the meter operator for your areaDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I don't know who does SP's Electric Domestic, so it appears to be a check up. There is nothing stopping you from getting in touch with Meter plus to clarify the reason for the visit0
