Reclaiming Money From a Company

Options
Hi everyone,
I'll be as detailed as I can. Basically I signed up with a company for various modules for a course I'm doing. Half way through and the way I've been treated and they operate is frankly pathetic and nothing more than a cowboy outfit. It's only now that I'm hearing nothing but poor things about them (probably my fault for not researching enough before hand).

Anyway, there 2x items I want to get my money back on and go elsewhere to do which will mean actually getting them done correctly with someone who cares.

However, the people I paid are going to be awkward and I can foresee them not returning my money. I feel sick at the thought of it because it's quite a sum to me. Is there any way I can force them into refunding me? I paid on a debit card.

Thanks for any help you can offer :(

Sorry, can I just check, have you asked for your money back yet, or have you already decided that they aren't going to give you it?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

In what way are they treating you badly.

You wont get anything back just because you have been 'hearing bad things'

If you search enough your bound to find bad reviews about every company.

Im going to Plusnet for my broadband. They claim to be excellent for customer service and advertise on that. But there are a few live threads complaining about them.

I just have my fingers crossed because they have my money.

  • Your first step should be to read the terms and conditions of the contract you agreed when you signed up and see what it says about cancellation. If there is a cancellation procedure in the terms and conditions then follow it if your circumstances fit with when the contract says you can cancel.

When you signed up, was it done in person/after face to face contact with the service provider or was it done online/over the phone?
