Disappointed with First Direct

Hi all,
Despite the fact Mr Lewis continually lavishes praise on First Direct, I thought I would share a disappointing experience when trying to switch to their account.
Firstly, 10 days pass and I hear nothing, despite the website saying they'd be in touch "in a day or two" with a response. Poor communication from the off.
I then phone the call centre and get passed to two different offices before being told my application is on hold until they can do a security call at my place of work. When I explained I work from home, they want to call one of my colleagues to verify I work there. No problem, however my H.R manager is based in a different office location from my office so they won't call her.
Long story short, I've cancelled my application and am very disappointed by First Direct, especially since their service is supposed to be very highly regarded.

As long as it's with the same legal entity, there shouldn't be an issue.
The issue comes, with the structure we have within our company, where some staff work for ABC Ltd, some for XYZ Ltd, and some with ZYX Holdings Ltd.
If you asked for borrowing, and FD didn't know you before (or HSBC), then they will understandably need to check with your employer.

I understand what you are saying, but I didn't ask for borrowing (I specifically asked for no overdraft on the account)0

Any current account has the potential for borrowing, unauthorized overdrafts etc hence their checks.0

Why do most of the regular contributors treat others like they are stupid...??!! (not directly referencing this thread but a general comment)
Yes, I am aware they need to do a level of checks.
My post was in relation to how awkward First Direct were and how poorly they communicated with me.0
