Non Billed Electricity from EDF
Hi,
Has anyone had the same experience and got any advice?
I am with EDF on a dual fuel tarriff, I rang them up as my account shows I was nearly £800 in credit, so I asked for the money to be refunded. They said I would have to give them up to date meter readings as the last ones they had were 3 months old. I gave them these over the phone and they told me they were very sorry but due to an error their end they had not billed me for the electricity part of my bill for 2 years and therefore I now owed them £1600.
Do I have to pay and is there anything I can do?
Any advice would be appreciated
Many thanks

They have the right to charge you for 12 months of usage which may be most of the bill depending on what you have paid for so far. However, they can go further back depending on the exact circumstances. If you were providing meter readings and the bill showed the meter readings you gave them then they can't go further back. If you did not give them meter readings then they may be able to charge you for the 2 years usage.Hi,

Do you have the previous meter readings? What's the meter readings going back as far as you can? What the current meter reading?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi Happy MJ
Thanks for the info, looking at the latest bill they sent it appears all previous bills were estimated, they have the current correct reading as I have it to them.0
