Just tell her that the militant approach would be costing them £32 at popla, they must pay that to even go there, and then she gets the satisfaction of costing the scammers that money and the bpa about £100 for this. It's win win :)

  • Stroma,

I like your angle! Would I need to request a POPLA code in the appeal letter?
  • just to chip in further - C2C aren't with the BPA anymore. I checked on the POPLA website and it states that it only deals with BPA members.

Does this mean appealing to the PPC in question is more pointless unless they are with the BPA?

    Good spot :T:T:T

Strangely their website doesn't show a BPA logo but does show a POPLA logo ! I feel an email coming on :D

It means C2C can't use POFA to hold the Registered Keeper liable for the charge. So, if they don't know the driver they can't do anything !

    Hovite,

An email coming on? Please do.

I take it then that appealing would be pointless (they'll reject no doubt and there wouldn't be an appeal to POPLA as an option). Seems that this lot are quite toothless.

I stand to be corrected but given C2C can't use POPLA and haven't done court since POFA - I'd ignore them !!!!!!!!!!

Membership of BPA Ltd & offering POPLA for second level appeals is not necessary to invoke POFA & keeper liability. They are completely unconnected. A private individual could slap a parking charge on a car parked in their drive & invoke POFA.
