Posting £250 package out of the UK

I have an auction fiinishing soon which is opened up to Worldwide Ebayers.
I thought the item would only reach £40 to £50 but has increased to over £200. As this was the only item of its type on Ebay I had no previous knowledge of what it could be worth.
My question is if the item is won by a person outside of the UK (like USA) I would like to make sure I am fully covered with the payment method and a trackable method of delivery which is insured for the full amount. The package would weigh less than 1Kg. Thanks....freddy

It's always worth knowing what paypal have to say about how to post securely for their terms and conditions:

    https://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/main.jsp;jsessionid=G26QHc7pQvM1MhrLDkNnSnqDbqmrh2VC9ZxwvHqbb5JZnsyQvdQq!-1610007693?t=solutionTab&ft=homeTab&ps=&solutionId=17464&locale=en_GB&_dyncharset=UTF-8&cmd=_help-ext&serverInstance=8003

Also one last tip, remember that depending on where the item is sent it my attract tax and duty when it arrives overseas.

Take a non reversable payment method (ie not paypal) and send via a trackable service DHL/UPS/Fedex.

For example if it sells to an American have them pay via Western Union and ship with Fedex through one of the many online parcel companies.

Western Union is banned on Ebay for obvious scamming reasons.

It's a perfectly leagal, safe way to recieve money from American buyers and it's *free* for sellers.

Note how many scammers use paypal, what are the chances of ebay banning that method too?

Please note that regardless of ersonal preferences Western Union is BANNED on ebay, so offering it will possibly result in listings being pulled and possibly a suspension for repeat offendors.

if you are unhappy with ebay terms and conditions then please try another auction site.

Back to the OP. Regardless of some of the advice offered it is worth remembering that you cannot alter the terms and conditions of the auciton once it has started. Some of the suggestions offered will make you look like a scammer to some buyers, and that is never a good thing.

Thank you for your replies and have done some extra reading that has been suggested. As the auction still has time to rise further with 59 watchers and over 800 visits, i was getting a little nervous that it may attract the wrong type of buyers looking to scam me, Ebay paranoia after reading so many bad experiences. So I was wanting to best protect myself on this auction.
