I am stuck in a loop with this java web page on IE11 and windows 8.1
http : // eu.securejavafiledownload.org/uk/
I get a box are you sure you want to leave this page with
leave this page or
stay on this page
and no matter what I click on I just go round in circles and the only way I can actually close the page is to switch off my computer as I have been there before.
I am downloading a file so I can't switch off my computer
and the only other way is to close IE11 is by using task manager but that cancels the download.
I don't want java on my computer. in fact I have removed it.
Any suggestions?

Why do you not want Java?
http://www.howtogeek.com/174343/ransomware-why-this-new-malware-is-so-dangerous-and-how-to-protect-yourself/
also whether I want Java or not it !!!!es me off that they try to force me to have it.
Back to my question!Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -
Does the IE download manager not resume interrupted downloads? And even if it doesn't, why can't you just start the download again?0

That site has a bad reputation according to that site above.... Its registered in CHINA. And only registered a few weeks ago.
Its all well and good them saying delete java its not safe.. So many websites use it the internet is a black hole without it.
You don't have to switch off the computer. Use Task Manager to end the process.
Java is not the issue. The site thats sending you to that link is the problem.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

It is slightly dodgyand very slow
I have solved the not closing web page.
I do love this forum, three replies and not one solution for my original question. :cool:Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -
Just kill the browser process (iexplore.exe) via task manager.

FWIW - the site that was hassling you and offering you a Java download isn't the official site java.com, so as well as nagging you it's trying to install a possibly virus-tainted package to you.
But you are going to illicit download sites anyway it seems, frankly there's a huge chance you'll have some malware on your system - try the usual malware scans and see what you find.
The internet is not a black hole without Java, JavaSCRIPT (entirely different thing) is used widely, 99%+ of internet users do NOT need Java.0 -

Why did you go to that website in first place? Are you one of the guys who click on any link in emails etc.?
To answer your question, don't use IE. If I open that page in Firefox and try to leave it by clicking on "Leave Page", the next popup has the option
[ ] Prevent this page from creating additional dialogues.
Just click that check box and OK and the next "Leave Page" will close it.0 -

Why do you think I was trying to close it without "updating" Java?Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -

You contradict yourself. Was that link by any chance on a website with dodgy downloads? You mentioned that there was another download running at that time...0
