around a £1000 anywhere up to 5000 depending how good or bad the car is now and how perfect you want it to be etc etc

It depends on what quality of job you want. From £400 to £1500 I guess.

I had a car resprayed a few years back and the results were excellent. However, it was scratched and chippped within two years, so I'd never go for a top job again, I'd go for a "looks OK from 1m away" job. So I'd expect to pay around £500-600 for an acceptable job.
    Happy chappy

I'd go so far as to suggest it was probably a better job than a lot of bodyshops will do as the lecturers won't let the students cut corners and they'll redo it until it's right.

Don't reley on preparing yourself, do let the paintshop give it a once over, too.

OK for stripping /refitting, but you do need to be pretty skilled to 'flat' the bodywork properly.

Best places to try, are the bodyshops that do work for local used car traders.

Ask at your local independent dealer. Avoid BIG dealers & insurance company approved places, as they probably won't be interested.

£500 + paint would be reasonable expectations. But don't expect concourse finish for that!!
