Prepay meters have a decimal point. first 5 numbers are used in nearly all domestics. A Greek meter ( Iskendon) was fitted about 8 years ago which had 6 numbers on show leading to many huge bills being sent by the auto billing systems
  • Your supplier will not charge you for checking their equipment if you have concerns it may be faulty, think of the liability implications they would face if they refused.

    Oh yes they may.
Sure - they won't charge you if there is a fault found.
But 11.a.v1 - for example of http://www.npower.com/home/electricity-and-gas/products/standard/#tab_3 says they will charge.

It turns out on closer inspection that my digital meter has 6 digits on it (037204) but the last digit is actually after a decimal point i.e. 03720.4
