DRO Finished has finished, a couple of questions..

I've just come to the end of my DRO and I have a couple of questions if anyone wouldn't mind helping me..
When is the best time now, to apply for a new bank - where I would have a change of actually having a better than basic bank?
How long after, does your credit start to repair? I've had a contract phone throughout, and a good bank account with money going in and out..
I just wondered when I'd be able to have a small amount of credit to be able to repair my credit.
Thanks.

When you say finished, do you mean the full 15 months?
Is your name still showing on the insolvency register? it isn't over really till it is off that I think
Sorry can't answer your questions about repair of report because I've personally chose not to and can't see the point much, after the initial 12 months/anniversary date I was able to get a catalogue account if that helps *without the repair* credit card could reject me until I'd be total of 18 months done as I understand it - admittedly approached my bank was just curious and was declined after the ann date which I'm now sooo glad about as I subsequently lost my job again so I think I'm better of without credit and never want to risk having to go broke again oh my days, not if I can help it so as you see I'm alright with no repair
I thought most basic bank accounts are pretty much like current accounts nowadays if that is any consolation (same appeals all do the free balance texts) have you tried upgrading with your current bank, again just not sure if you should leave it till bang on after the 15 months x0 -
1. You stand the best chance of an upgrade with your own bank. However, most basic accounts will have a debit card and direct debit/standing order facility so what 'extra' are you looking for?
2. Sub-prime credit card suppliers (Aqua, Cap One, Vanquis, Bcard initial) will accept you once you are out of your DRO and this will help but you must pay it off in full each month.
Apply through this and use the pre-application checker

Thanks both - I was offered a bank with no actual card use, so I couldn't pay for things in the shop, whilst in my DRO, but I already obtained a decent card, but my bank is up where I used to live and I don't have any branches that I can access here, so I'd like to change to a bank that I have access to.Thank you, to all those who make the comps forum, what it is.0

If you were alright with no repair why did you go for a DRO in the first place?
If you just leave it 6years then it will all be washed away just the same? Right?0
