How to close the online account?

Just closed a halifax account. It's not so important but I want my online banking login to be cancelled, as I can still log into it. Will it close eventually or what?

I suspect you'll be able to retain access to it in order to print statements/get information for a period of time.
However, the best people to answer your question are Halifax, specifically the online banking helpdesk on 0845 602 0000 (www.saynoto0870.com may throw up a cheaper phone number).0 -
Why not keep it? If one day you'd like another Halifax account, you will already have the online access sorted.0

I've got lots of online accounts which don't have a penny in them. I still get email offers sent to me, and emails telling my statement is now available to view online. I can still log into them and I consider this a bonus as in the future these banks, building societies may offer accounts with good rates and I can apply online."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
