Solicitors Bill

Any idea when I will receive the final bill from the solicitors?

I am fully expecting to exchange on Monday, if this happens then all that remains for the solicitors is to transfer the monies on completion day isn't it?

if so can I ask for a final bill after exchange has taken place?

We are selling and ours will take his fee and the EA's fee from the money and send the balance to us.

  • Yes mine will do that too, I just would like to know in advance what that final bill will be, trouble is I am not sure when I can approach it.

You should get a draft completion statement a few days before completion.

The completion statement sets out all the money coming in, such as sale proceeds, mortgage funds and any cash injected; balancing it with the outgoings, such as the purchase monies, disbursements, fees, VAT and stamp duty.

The final amount is the money your solicitor needs from you to undertake completion.
