Npower cant take a meter reading, preventing me from switching.. What to do?
Npower is having 'technical difficulties' and have not been able to generate a bill for OVER A YEAR, so essentially they just estimating all the time. I decided to switch to EDF after using MSE switching tool, I filled in the application and EDF said that my supply started on 25/03/2013, but the process is not complete.
Initially i was paying two Direct Debits because the move wasnt complete, once I realised I cancelled my DD to Npower and now paying EDF, even though it hasn't properly switched over. EDF Said that they will give the money to Npower to finalise the bill. Now with the 10% price hike imminent, I am worried that my bill with Npower will be much higher than with EDF. I feel like my choice to switch has ultimately been taken away from me because Npower can't read my meter and finalise my bill.
Has anyone else had this problem, what should I do?

Are you able to take a reading yourself and submit it to them?
Every time I've changed suppliers, the new one's written to say when the switch will occur and when I need to submit readings to them.0 -
Why can't you read the meter? It is the new supplier who provides the change of supplier reading to the old supplier.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

The customer always provides meter readings when switching, not the utility company. Switch and give the new company the meter reading when asked. They will pass this onto nPower when appropriate.0

Also edf wont pay npower.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
