Just heard a really loud bang outside, looked out the window and one of the pains of glass on the conservatory is shattered.

A range of expletives went through my head as I thought some little **** has thrown a rock over the 2 gardens next to mine and hit the glass.

Been to investigate and whilst the glass has shattered from a central point, there is no impact mark, no can I find anything on the floor that could have caused the damage.

Come inside and googled and apparantly double glazed units can spontaneously shatter!!

    House insurance will love this!

Can you take it down for them? I know they're horrible but would they be less horrible if they came back and it was all mangled up? Might teach them a lesson too ;)

It is all screwed into some wood and then onto there decking so SHOULD be safe just depends how it hits and if the bracket things where its screwed down break with the wobbling , If you know what i mean

(Not N.Ireland.) Don't fall for T's 3 for 2 purely on the Whitworths Shots (25g). 49p any 3 for 2. No need - M is 32p each (until 10/11). T's price is a fraction of a penny over 32p each when buying in 3s. There are other options in T at 3 for 2, but it's cheapest item 'free'. Otherwise, if sticking to the Shots, you don't need to be buying in 3s merely to get the offer price. Only need 1 for M.

That said, I'd never buy these things anyway, as small packs and, almost inevitably, way too high price per unit. Much better sticking with the Value Raisins/Sultanas etc., currently buy in T on 3 for 2 (includes Northern Ireland).

Evening, we had the outer pain break on one of our windows, but it was during the day and the only conclusion was a bird had flown into it, we think a larger bird like a crow or a sparrow hawk at speed, never went through the insurance because of the excess.

They sure do make it complicated:( (not deliberately, just haphazardly by each individual actor's actions:rotfl:): again, Northern Ireland, sorry M comps. not available to you, but T's 3 for 2s are.

Flaked Almonds are best got in T at the moment (200g own brand), but merely because of T's 3 for 2. £1.99 3 for 2. If it weren't for that, A's Flaked Almonds, which are a smaller pack, would be £1.41 vs M only at £1.49 (to try to take a little off £1.41).

There's also T Hazelnuts and T Walnuts in T's mix and match, but different individual prices and therefore, if you buy one of each, just the cheapest one 'free' (in that case the Hazelnuts at £1.79). Walnuts £2.20 (3 for 2). As it stands at the moment, according to msm.

Otherwise, if you don't want or need that much, the Hazelnuts (150g) in A, although you're paying more per 100g, should be A £1.52 vs M at £1.45 (so 10% off £1.45 albeit still more per 100g than T's 3 for 2, assuming a purchase of 3x Hazelnuts 200g in T).

HTH (- if you can work out the complexity).

That's just asking for the obvious comment - "It's all nuts if you ask me.", but I'll get in there first before anyone else can do.:D:rotfl:

Out of interest, how much was a new unit?
