The naans were 20p or 3for2 in T not so long ago! 50p is expensive :rotfl:

    Hi again everyone:).

I did have these A Naan Breads from my Morries collection last week - there is/was some sort of offer in M on their equivalent, but I thought it was too expensive, I thought of this earlier Tosco offer and there was some sort of issue regarding the weight, or absence of a weight, in M which I thought made them too risky for APG.

Anyway, onto the results of my price collection this week. Overall not too much change in the actual offers, but instead things like the SP equivalent items to catch you out. Following A's 'breaking ranks' and increasing prices on several of their SP items, obviously M:( have been watching closely and some price increases, particularly on the tinned products. SP Soup equivalents up to 30p in M:(:( - noticed they were also up in price to 30p in Sains. (on my way back tonight) - but....:):) may be temporarily have, after being 30p in T yesterday, gone back down to 24p in T today (according to msm). So.. was Avs S yesterday, now Avs T.

    Just to catch you out.

Apart from that, obviously you wouldn't put the A Round Lettuce, at 50p, onto a Morries comp. anyway (57p in M last week) but now definitely one to avoid in a vs M basket - M now 69p:eek: on their lettuce. You can use A's 50p lettuce as a filler on an Avs T shop though, regardless of T's price, as T's version is Eday Value and therefore non-comparable. At the moment, T happens to be 50p (as does S on its Basics lettuce, but it has a higher-priced standard range lettuce, so avoid Avs S) - but no 10% due to the non-comparability.

Now, in summary, a few of the headlines:

A's 400g Plums £1.97:eek: x2:eek::eek: vs M Red Plum Punnet 400g which is on £1 bogof. If it does go pear (or even plum)-shaped, should be a back-up vs T at £1.00 each so not all lost! We hope.

Nothing on the gift sets (£5/2 for £8 in M), the only thing on the chocs. is the Guylian Seashells at £3, but no good, esp. as many have already had those vs T cheaper than that, and sadly wrong week for any glitch 2 for £5 items vs M. All the Albertos (whether hairsprays or mattes and pastes) on full price, only long-shot was the W/S Extra II Sensitive Disposables (10) but sadly more expensive in M than S's £3.49 and 2 for £5 back on msm anyway.

Ricola Cranberry or Lemon Drops Tvs M at 69p:( vs 65p (although I suppose, then again, doesn't risk you much if doesn't compare - but maybe M will return at £1.39 on T PP:rotfl:) - should also be Tvs S as things stand.

Next on the conveyor belt, the Elite thread's own Generation Game 'cuddly toy':D - Mr Kipling Viennese Whirls are back on 65p in M - this time "until 17/11" (by now, I get the impression that M really wants to keep them on that price, but has to put them up for a week or two in order to say they are "half price". That said, people do pick up full price items, with no obvious recompense - my little  this week - seeing a shopper pick up the Soreen Loaf now on £1.19, up from £1).

In case it helps anyone, Scott's Porage Oats Original (1kg) are on '2 for £3' in M (due to run until 29/12).

I've found Maggi So Juicy Cooks in the Bag Oriental Garlic Chicken packet on 28p in M.

The SP Curry or Chicken Noodles are still best vs M (though M up to 15p from 11p some months back). But:

    The equivalents of:
    SP Tomato/Vegetable/Chicken Soup 400g up to 30p in M. (Now vs T.)
SP Beans & Sausages off for now (not available in store tonight, and no SEL, so needs confirmation of M price from elsewhere).
SP Baked Beans - M price increase to 28p.
SP Ravioli - M up from 35p to 39p (still best now vs M, due to T being up at 48p) but more expensive than before.
SP Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce - a welcome decrease in price last week in M, to 15p, as A went up in price (even though M's version lower weight than T's but, given T's increase in price, off vs there), but now M back up in price - now 20p.
SP Macaroni Cheese - was 40p, now 45p in M.

The Muller 6 pack Corners are still £1.82 in M.

R White Lemonade Lollies back down to £1.

One I haven't mentioned before and didn't quite make it into the M list is Almondy Daim or Toblerone Tarta 400g, both on £2 in M (to 17/11). I thought it was too much of a money-spending tempter and, when other frozen cheesecakes/lemon meringues etc. are cheaper than that price and for about the same weight or more, wasn't that good. It's good for Almondy branded Tarta. But not making it to the M list, again.

I've had Danny Lemon Power washing up liquid on the M list, as price of 89p for 1.5L seemed a bargain. But, not a good review from me I'm afraid. I am using it, and it seems to need to use twice as much to get the same as Fairy liquid and, even then, not cleaning very well. With that, I'd rather pay more for some Fairy liquid. I'm in need of a glitch on WUL (as I've already mentioned before!). Although at least the 870ml Original or Lemon Fairy liquid has now reduced in price at M to £1.50. Was 2 for £3.00 the week but one (probably) before it started at £1.50 each but at least not having to buy 2 anymore. Also vs Sains. (Or T, but in twos.) Not as good as Waitrose's temporary 2 for £2 but that's been long long gone many months back.

And I think that's it. Some more items for the checking, but hopefully the updating will be the shortest one yet:T:T:j:j (still take me till at least tomorrow evening before I start properly:( - but hey, there's a lot already on there:):) and [now changed to the carryovers] - items from last week that continue on the new list).
