My Savings Diary

Started this thread to try and motivate me;
Current position
24, Living at home with parents, looking to save towards a house deposit! Hopefully...save 10k by the end of next year!
I have no willpower when it comes to saving, known to randomly spend £20+ on my lunch times in Asda on random things...have decided now is the time to try and sort my life out!
Current savings
£1450 in a savings account
£6600 worth of shares (locked in for 3 years....staff shares!)
Outstanding debts!
Car loan
Finishes in March 2014, currently paying £279 a month - so will be that amount better off from March!
Overtime completed this month; roughly an extra £600 in November pay
Wish me luck! :j

Certainly a lot easier to save up while still living with parents.
When I was your age I bought a car on finance. Never again!
Stuck in a dilemma at the moment, one perk of my job is a staff rate mortgage which is currently at 0.5% but cannot get more than one mortgage or cannot borrow more (top up) wondering whether to hold on til I get a bigger deposit and buy the house I want to stay in
150k where I live can get you a lot of house, talking detached/semi 3 bed properties
