I would put it back in the oven on a low heat and check it every 10 mins.

put it back in the oven and leave it there till it sets. Each oven is individual so dont worry about over running on recipe cooking times just make sure it doesnt burn

Which recipe was it that you used? Maybe we can have a look and see if any of the proportions look unusual :)

hi it was on all recipes web site and it was called Pasteis de Nata - Portuguese Custard Tarts they look lovely in the picture
i am now using a delia recipe and it is rising! i dont know what i have done this time, this is what you get for saying you would make afters for a few people, morrisons is on the way if i fail again.
  • I've just made some creme patissier; It's a Nigella recipe and is supposed to fill a cake, which is what I was hoping to do with it. BUT its really runny, more like custard.

How could I thicken it up? Any suggestions would be so gratefully received!!!!!!!!! Thanks

Mix a little cornflour or arrowroot with cold water to form a loose paste then whisk that into the custard over a low head, continue stirring so it doesnt burn and thickens up (might take 5-10 mins)

As Floyd says but you don't need a little one. Heat will do.
