I recently booked to stay in Iceland through booking.com
The apartment was advertised at £246 for 4 nights but when i checked my bank statement i had been charged £260.11.
I emailed booking.com and they said i had been charged in euros and city tax has been added on ( EUR 0.70pn total of EUR 2.80 which i was aware) so that's why i had been charged more.
Should I have been charged the price shown of £246 + EUR 2.80 (£ equivalent) or can they charge me more?
Thanks
Matt

Did the price in the advert say 'local tax not included' or words to that effect?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

All it says on the booking is...
Prices are per apartment for 4 nights Included in apartment price: 7 % VAT
Not included in apartment price: EUR 0.70 city tax per night0 -

When you are paying in Euros, the Booking.com site does show the CURRENT price in GBP (based on the exchange rate for that day), but underneath the room choice it says this:
You will pay the hotel in the hotel’s local currency (ISK). The displayed amount (in GBP) is indicative and based on today’s exchange rate.
That would probably explain the difference in price.0 -
What card did you pay on?
As the above poster has said booking.com displayed the price in GBP, but this would have been indicative based on exchange rates. You been charged in Euros, I suspect the difference is your bank's comission/poor exchange rate.0
