no AmEx card unfortunately, just the hsbc debit card I've had for ten years. I think small building society might be the way to go, someone who's willing to go the extra mile to get a customer. With my deposit and earnings, I'm actually a pretty low risk, just that on the face of it, I'm a bit of an unknown entity.0

You could apply for one in your current resident country and then get it transferred in 6 months time (Time depends on country). It's and easy way to get your credit up then. What country are currently residing in?0 -

I kept a HSBC account open but never used it for 6 years while I lived in Japan ..I had a mortgage within 4 months of my return to UK with HSBC
That was 15 years ago ..But you should be OK0
