Every little helps0 -
How did you get free sky in the first place - any costs involved ?0
-
when I did it it was a one off payment of £150 for top box/dish which gives you most of the freeview channels and lots of minor channels ,as well as horror channel, true movies ,sky 3,and all the religious ones.It was a good deal at the time, but i think sky are trying to get as many as possible back off freesat now.0

Yes - got this offer in the post. Rang them up and it is a new offer to existing freesat customers (if you can get hold of a sky box then it will only cost you £20 for a freesat card that is valid for 3 years - gives access to all Free to AIR services - http://www.freesatfromsky.com/?pID=6)
They have sent me a new viewing card to access the new packages.
What caught me out is that I DON'T have a phoneline connected to my sky box and this is required for the initial set up to work. However once I plugged a phone line in, it went through the set up process and it all works fine. Have disconnected the phone line again now.
So 3 months of everything (apart from pay to view stuff) for free - perfect timing for school holidays and sporting events coming up.
Just have to wait for my M & S vouchers now.
They apparently contact you before the end of the 3 months to find out what you want to do - ie go back to freesat or take out a contract.
They do set up a DD for Sky when you take this offer up, so remember to cancel this if you go back to being a freesat customer.
Highly recommended offer.0 -
just signed up for this offer too. they never mentioned about ringing me up after 3 months? made it sound on the phone that if i did not cancel i would automatically start paying subscription so i have made a big note on the calender to cancel when the time comes. reading the contract that came with the new card says its a 12 month contract so don't get caught out, and don't rely on them contacting you.0

I also have freesat and I had a telephone call as well, offering all the packages free for three months and £50 of Marks & Spencer vouchers. I got a new card and it is all working fine, but I phoned sky and asked when the vouchers would come through and was told they didn't know about the offer. I have now had a letter through today saying that I am going to be billed £43.50 on the 5/7/2007.
Has anyone else received their M&S vouchers?
vandanfc - I don't have a telephone line connected to my box, but it was still setup without any problems. I think Sky prefer it if you do have a telephone line connected to the box.0 -
Ive had the basic channels for months now, then Sky sent me an offer through the post of Sky Sports for £5 a month for the next 3 months. OH requested this.
Then last week, we had an offer for Sky Movies for £1 a month for 3 months, so we thought we would sign up for that....
Only thing was - they instantly applied the movie channels to my account, but automaticly applied the full cost of the sports channels also without telling me this.
They said I wasn't allowed 2 offers at the same time.
Yet - my neighbour, was able to upgrade all her packages (full lot) for £15 a month for 6months.
Half the time Sky dont know their As5 from their elbow, and I still dont know why I bother with them now.
Im total idiots guide when it comes to technology, can someone PM me with details what this freesat is all about! Does that replace freeview?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Sorry for sounding dense - it is 2am_party_
Does this sound like a plan....
1) Cancel Sky @ £15 per month
2) Buy Freesat Card for £20
3) Sky phone me and give me more chanels than I was on for 3 months and a wodge of M&S vouchers
or can I phone them and ask for the deal?
TIA
