    I'd agree that a Plextor wins hands down on performace aswell as life expectancy if you dont mind the extra dosh.
    For a budget drive go for the Pioneer 109.

    I'm an 'LG' fan as well. I've got one at the moment and I'm well pleased with it. It burns anything thrown at it and it was cheap as well. (It's the 4082 so it's slower than the one mentioned above and its only single layer)
